Catching up...again

Okay...so you've been wondering what the *wIlD*rOoTs* family has been doing lately to keep themselves *so* busy? Well...here are a few snippets...
We had planned to go to the first annual Renaissance Faire put on by the Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre...We even made costumes! Spider-dove called herself a medieval princess or the Lady of the Lake, depending upon which moment you asked her. We made her a lovely dress out of our friend's sister's prom dress...little*bear dressed as a knight...but did not want his picture taken...unfortunately the Faire got rained out...so we went to the University of Alaska Fairbanks to climb trees...one of the kids' most favorite things to do!
from mamaroot:

Spider-dove and I have been talking about making paper together, so we spent an afternoon making a mold and deckle together...

We spent much time this summer exploring the insect world...this is a beetle that was new to all of us:

little*bear often travels in his big sisters footsteps...he is now quite an egg-cracker!

of course, creating of one sort or another happens regularly:

Adventures in Rhubarb!
The following is the first installment of the Rhubarb Chronicles...together with our friends we journeyed out to Goldstream Valley to harvest some rhubarb, the first step in our jam-making process...
from mamaroot:
My friend and sister boreal*sun*daughter surprised the kids with some steamers for the drive out to the valley:
little*bear delighted in picking the rhubarb!
The kids played 'monster-chase' in the fireweed field next to the rhubarb garden:
boreal*sun*daughter...bright & shiney mama!
my sweet friend, little*bird:

oh how beautiful the intricacies of nature are!
45 pounds of rhubarb to process:

bright & beautiful, squeaky clean stalks:

The sprial of life flows all around us
always
all ways:

the kids enjoyed a romp on the trampoline while boreal*sun*daughter and i processed the rhubarb:

isn't it pretty all processed and bagged up?

time to re-fuel:

Of course, these are just small pieces of the goings-on in our world...but it gives you an idea of where our energy has been going!
Stay tuned for the up-coming installments of the Rhubarb Chronicles, as well as the myriad other adventures that call upon us...
~blessings one and all~
