Yesterday was no such day...I had no plan whatsoever. We joined some friends for breakfast, and ended up cutting it short because our family's just needed a bit of space...so we headed home, I cleaned out the truck, and the kids and I headed to Creamer's Field.
There was no agenda other than to check out the 'frog pond' and look for dragonflies and damselflies. We spend a good three or so hours there...no looking at the clock, no hurries, no worries, and I have to say, it was a splendid, glorious, *shiney* day!
we started by playing and eating under the big spruce tree, then moved into the garden...
little*bear frolics in the garden by the visitor's center
...then we headed to the seasonal wetland trail...
wild irirses begin to bloom
Spider-dove bounds across a bridge surrounded by roses and birches
this is 'their' place
...we ventured onto the boreal forest trail where we encountered the 'Great Mother Boreal' as Spider-dove called her...Whatever her name, she was definitely there...in the breeze that rustled the leaves, in the myriad birds who sang to us as we strolled...
little*bear coined this 'the longest bridge in the world'
the horsetail was bright and glowing and really talking to me...
It's been awhile since I've been completely present. It was refreshing to really be within the flow, with no thoughts about time or 'other' things to do. We simply were. Together. Enchanted by our surroundings, by each other. There was so much love and connection. These are the moments that give me the courage to continue down this unschooling path, and remind me of how beautiful this path is.
Our evening came full circle when we went back to our friend's house for a Solstice fire...good conversation, lots of fun and playing, feelings of joy and happiness being in the presence of people whom I love and enjoy...
M. was hard at work...however he has off today so that we can celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary!
I love you M.!
