Since last I blogged, the WildRootsFamily has worked our way through a most annoying and uncomfortable Spring Crud, ventured through some emotionally trying times, and meandered through playgrounds and along riverbanks.

We wrapped up our Spring Welcoming celebrations, where we dyed eggs and wool with materials like onion skins, turmeric, cabbage, coffee grounds, and other gifts from Mother Earth; We planted seeds (just flowers so far); We have been dancing to our heart's content (the kids are whirling and twirling around me as I type this); We read our favorite Spring stories, such as An Egg is Quiet, The Faeries at Spring Cottage, Raven and River, Gnomes, Pico the Gnome (This one showed up in our Eostar basket!), Pelle's New Suit and so many more!

Throughout our sickness we watched some movies, such as The Land Before Time (One of little*bear's newfound favorites - Spider-dove loathes it!), Dinosaur, The Planet Earth Series (Spider-Dove's favorite), The Wind in the Willows (we read the unabridged story then watched the movie and compared them...it was interesting to hear what the kids noticed was different between the book and the movie), Happy Feet, and March of the Penguins (another of the kids favorites).

The Earth slowly continues to come unfrozen, and the kids shriek with sheer delight as they rush outside each day (without the cumbersome snowgear) to see what surprises Mother Nature has in store for them. We've been to Creamer's Field to welcome home the geese who are returning and to journey along the trails, and to the river a few times to honor our newly-flowing sister! There has been a tremendous amount of puddle splashing and digging our hands and feet into the damp and dank and luscious Earth (in those few places where She shows herSelf)...even though it's still *sooooo* cold!

And now, as the evening winds down, it is time for me to retire from the computer and reconnect with the kids and begin our evening ritual...

The computer is still refusing to upload photos...so for those of you expecting or hoping for pictures, I apologize! (I have some really great ones and I am a bit bummed out not to be able to share them!)

May ~love~ and ~light~ shine upon you all!

Spring's Blissings...
